You will be met at the airport and taken to meet your host family in a welcoming rural community outside of San Jose. Begin your day with a trip to a waterfall, a lesson in Costa Rican cooking or an opportunity to volunteer in the community. Then spend your afternoons attending Spanish classes with other high school students from around the world. With no more than ten students in your class, you will have plenty of opportunities to ask questions and converse. In the evening go home to share your new conversation skills over dinner with your family!
Weekends are reserved for overnight excursions. The fiery Arenal Volcano, the protected beaches of Tortuguero (home of the nesting sea turtles) and the rain forests and beaches of Manuel Antoņio are just a few of the options. All excursions and activities are led by experienced bilingual chaperones, who also escort you to and from your homestay each day.
