FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to recruit a minimum number of students to lead a custom group?
Group prices are based on a minimum group size of 10 students. We can customize a program for a smaller group, but the price per student may be somewhat higher to cover the chaperone’s expenses. You may also combine students from different schools to make a group.

What if I don’t have enough students for a group?
If you can’t get a group together by combining with another school, your students can still participate by joining an Andeo group composed of students throughout your region.

Do I need to pay to lead a custom group?
We include the costs of one chaperone in all of our programs. The program can be cheaper for your students if you want to pay some of your own costs.

Will we have special pre-departure orientations for my students?
Yes. We will work with you to design an appropriate orientation for your group.

What are my responsibilities during travel?
You are responsible for traveling both ways with your group. When you arrive you will be met by a bilingual staff who will take care of the local transportation of the group and provide support throughout your stay.

Where will I stay?
Normally, you will also stay with a host family. You may request to stay with friends if they live in the area of your group’s program.

What are my responsibilities while abroad?
You are responsible for acting as a liaison between your students and the program. You will help students who are homesick or having some cultural adjustment problem.

What is a homestay study program?
Study programs include small-group language classes tailored to your students’ interests and abilities. Weekday cultural activities and weekend excursions give them many opportunities to explore the local culture and use their language. Most evenings and weekends are free to spend with host families. Weekend excursions and volunteer opportunities are also available. Prices range from $1,600 including homestays, airfare, insurance, classes and cultural activities.

France, Spain, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Germany, Canada, and Japan.

What is a homestay immersion program?
Immersion programs are perfect for students who really want to participate in the daily life and language of their host family. You and your students will travel to your chosen country as a group, then go home to spend 3-4 weeks with individual host families. Students have many opportunities to speak the language, join in family traditions and explore the culture with their host families. Optional tours of Paris, Madrid, Berlin or Mexico City available. Prices range from $1,800 to $3,000, including homestays, airfare, insurance and all local transportation. Choose from summer programs or programs during the school year that include visits to local high schools.
