San Sebastian San Sebastian is a lively city and the cultural capital of the Basque country. It offers a rich palate of cultural events, beaches, mountains, folklore, remarkable customs and traditions, important musical and cinematic events, and countless festivals. San Sebastian is also known for its fabulous cuisine, especially the tapas!
The School Located in the heart of the city, the school is les than 10 minutes from the beach, the city center, and the bus and train stations. During breaks you can sip a caf con leche and get to know other students in the open-air terrace. There are sixteen air-conditioned classrooms and a social area with a library of books, magazines and newspapers.
The Classes All classes are taught by native speakers who have been trained in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The emphasis is on developing communicative skills. Your program includes four 45-minute Spanish lessons daily, maximum of 12 students per class. It also includes an orientation and tour of San Sebastian, a student discount card, an activities program and free internet access.
Cultural Activities Afternoon activities may consist of visiting the aquarium and old part of town, a trip to the Fuenterrabia fishing village or the the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, or taking a cooking or surfing class. Plan to budget a little extra for the optional activities and excursions.
Special Option: Spanish and Surfing! Take advantage of San Sebastian's beautiful beaches with a daily surfing lesson! This option includes all materials: board, wetsuit, insurance, and a hot shower in the winter. The surfing course is offered year round, call for details!
Accommodations Your Spanish fluency will improve daily as you share conversations with your host family. You will live with a family that has been carefully selected, in a home that is within walking distance or a short bus ride to school. Accommodations include breakfast and dinner each day.
